FAQ's
Freeze-drying combines the best of cooked and raw approaches. Like raw meals & processing methods like "air-dried raw", freeze-drying preserves nutrients and tastes better than high-heat methods.
Unlike raw, Purebowl's unique freeze-drying process involves a "kill step," which eliminates pathogens, removing any food safety risks and making your dog’s ongoing health a priority. This process means Purebowl's dog food is dry enough to last for weeks after opening but has enough moisture to eat without any additional preparation. You'll notice that you feed a lot less on Purebowl freeze dried dog food because there are zero fillers which means you'll also be picking up a lot less poo!
Simply rehydrate with water according to package instructions, or serve it dry, depending on your dog’s preference.
Choose the right sized bowl according to your feeding amount, and use very warm water to assist in rehydrating. Allow 1 minute for the water to fully absorb. We also find for dogs who need encouragement to eat all their veggies, that soaking the food in slightly cooled, boiled water, then leaving to soak for 5-10 minutes will allow the veggies absorb the meaty flavour.
Nope! Purebowls dog food recipes are complete and balanced for various life stages and all breeds. You will not need to add supplements to your pet’s diet unless specifically recommended by your veterinarian.
When feeding your dog Purebowl food, you have the option of both wet and dry varieties. Refer to the daily feeding guide for the appropriate amounts for your pet, and follow the provided instructions for feeding.
1. Wet Feeding
Measuring by Grams: For every 5g of dry food, add 15g of water. For example, for 50g of dry food, add 150g of water. This will make 200g of wet food.
Let stand until food soaks up some of the water. It should take less than 1 minute, however reconstitution times can vary.
2. Dry Feeding
Measuring by Grams: Measure the required amount in grams according to the daily feeding guide, and add to the bowl.
If feeding dry, place a bowl of fresh water next to the bowl of dry food to help your dog stay adequately hydrated when dry feeding.
